During the winter holidays, there were no more serious criminal incidents. Concerned about the safety of children, traffic police officers inspected buses transporting children and teenagers to winter camps. They also patrolled all places where minors might be present. Fortunately, the areas around playgrounds, parks, squares and bus stops were safe, with no incidents reported.

Before and during the winter holidays, officers held meetings with children and school students. They reminded the youngsters how to play safely at home and in the yard, as well as whom to turn to for help when necessary.

During the “Safe Winter Holidays” campaign, Zgorzelec police officers:

  • inspected 850 vehicles, including 15 buses transporting children and teenagers to winter camps
  • identified 705 offenses
  • detained 44 registration certificates, including due to the poor technical condition of vehicles
  • identified 8 intoxicated drivers.
