On 22 April, we will meet for the fourth time at the start of the Papal Run, which will be located on the esplanade between the RCS Sports and Entertainment Hall and the RCS Stadium. Although the event is still several good weeks away, online registration is now beginning, with the Main Run limit increased to 2,500 participants. After several winter weeks, this is the time when we already long for the commotion of running villages, friends we have not seen for a long time, adrenaline, running competition, the sight of the finish line on the horizon and the weight of a medal around our necks.

The organisers announce: “You will have plenty of attractions waiting for you in the evening, as we have moved the start of the run to 21:37, so that we can honour the memory of our great Pope John Paul II with a minute of silence.”

They add: “This year’s route follows exactly the same streets as last year, and the distance is 6,300 m, with the finish located right in the centre of the RCS Hall. Along the route, we will be accompanied by a dependable crowd of supporters and performances by music bands from our region. For children from Lubin preschools and primary schools (Years 1–3), the eagerly awaited cry of ‘START’ will be heard at 18:18. The distances remain unchanged—200 and 400 m—and registration will begin next Monday at Lubin schools and preschools. This year, for the first time, there is no limit for the children’s runs; every child registered at their preschool or school will be able to take part.”

Registration for the fourth edition of the Papal Run, together with the regulations, is available from 18 January at 12:00. To register, click here: https://super-sport.com.pl/zapisy/1034-iv-bieg-papieski.html.

The entry fee for the Main Run is PLN 25 (the race package includes, among other things, a special sports shirt and a beautiful medal); it must also be paid through the electronic system after completing the race registration.
