Kortez is a 28-year-old composer and singer from Iwonicz, endowed with a deep and slightly raspy voice. A trained pianist and trombonist with a passion for classical music. Several years ago, he began singing. After a few months, he wrote his first songs. He submitted one of them to an audition for the television programme Must Be The Music, where he went unnoticed.
At the beginning of 2014, he signed a contract with Jazzboy Records. During his first two-week session in Warsaw, he recorded 66 songs, which became his official demo. In March 2015, his first EP, titled “Jazzboy Session”, was released, featuring three songs: “Zostań”, “Joe” and “Co myślisz?”. The entire print run of this release has already sold out. The song “Zostań” became a hit—it remained on the Polish Radio Three Hit List for several weeks. His debut album, “Bumerang”, achieved platinum status. The artist was nominated for the 2016 Fryderyki Awards in four categories (song of the year, music video of the year, pop album of the year, phonographic debut of the year). Ultimately, he received the statuette for phonographic debut of the year.
Kortez will perform on March 11 (Saturday) in the main hall of CK Muza. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets: PLN 50 (PLN 60 on the day of the concert).
