At the concert given by the Mały Bolesławiec Song and Dance Ensemble from the Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury at the Old Theatre, soldiers from the 588th Engineer Battalion from Fort Carson, Colorado, stationed with the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, took part.
During the concert, the Americans learned about Polish folk costumes, tasted Polish ptasie mleczko, and finally... learned the song “Szła dzieweczka do laseczka.”
The soldiers gave the young performers, students of Anna Idkowiak, a standing ovation. All the dancers received candy.
