Imagine this situation: a first date with someone you have just met. Everything is going wonderfully. You leave the restaurant and suddenly they casually mention that they are a KOD activist (the right-wing version). Or that they are a local leader of the Ruch Narodowy (the liberal version). Or perhaps she admits that she loves Coldplay, while you have been torturing yourself with the latest album by the Swedish band Meshuggah. And all the magic disappears. Can this kind of scenario be avoided? It turns out that it can.

An American, Brendan Alper, who quit his job at one of the largest banks in the world to become a comedian, came up with an app bearing the self-explanatory name Hater. At first, it was meant to be a joke, but the newly minted comedian then discovered his entrepreneurial streak and put the idea into practice.

How does the app work? It finds people of the opposite sex who hate the same things we do. In other words, during a date it will be possible to avoid making a blunder that would ruin the entire evening.

As we read on the dobreprogramy.pl portal:

In addition to things to “hate” together, the app also takes users’ locations into account when matching pairs. A conversation can be started traditionally via chat or with an icebreaker game in which both sides have to answer questions—for example, what they hate more.

Hater for iOS officially launches on Wednesday, February 8. The Android version is expected to become available in spring. Details are available at dobreprogramy.pl. What do you think? We invite you to join the discussion and take part in our poll.
