Drivers who do not leave their cars in a garage overnight had problems today opening their vehicles and preparing them for the journey. Freezing rain caused a layer of ice to cover the windows and bodywork of the cars. Locks froze, and the doors became stuck to the seals.
It looks as though this evening and tomorrow morning will be similar. Rain is falling and freezing on the roads and pavements. It is very slippery everywhere. We appeal for caution not only to drivers but also to pedestrians.
