The ceremony presenting the Lower Silesian Keys to Success, the oldest and most prestigious award in our region, was held on September 27 at the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Theatre in Jelenia Góra. Among those honored was the Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury in Bolesławiec, which was recognized as the best educational institution in 2007.
The Keys to Success are intended to promote the best of Lower Silesia. This year, the Bolesławiec MDK was nominated for this prestigious award for the second time. This time, it won in its category. “We feel honored,” Ewa Lijewska, director of the institution, tells the IstotneInformacje.pl portal. Ewa LijewskaThis is not the first award in the MDK’s history. “But we do not hide the fact that, because of its rank and reach, this one is special for us,” the director admits. She adds that winning it is thanks to all the institution’s employees.
Nearly 60 studios and more than 900 students. “This is a talent factory,” says Ewa Lijewska. – “Children can develop here in many different directions.” The cultural center’s students win numerous awards, not only in Poland. “They bring recognition to our county and this institution,” the director admits.
The region’s most prestigious award has been won. However, this does not mean that MDK employees intend to rest on their laurels. In 2007, MDK completed two projects: “Education on Wheels” and “Our Places.” This year, a sports bridge section was opened. “The future of institutions of this type lies in constant development,” Lijewska states.
