On Sunday, January 15, a neighborhood police patrol from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica went—in connection with another matter—to the Kunice municipality. Shortly afterward, the officers received information that a car chop shop was located in the municipality. There were indeed numerous car parts on the indicated property. At first glance, the officers determined that the components could have come from a crime.

The neighborhood officers searched the property and found two partially dismantled vehicles. Police officers from the Department for Combating Crimes Against Property of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica quickly arrived at the scene and identified the two vehicles: an Audi A5 and an Audi Q5. It turned out that both cars had been stolen in Germany.

Two people were detained: the 56-year-old property owner and a 46-year-old man who was staying on the premises. Both were taken into police custody. The older man has already been charged with handling stolen goods. He faces up to five years in prison.
