– Connecting new consumers in the Market Square and its immediate vicinity is one of the key tasks of the Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej in Bolesławiec – informs ZEC president Rafał Koronkiewicz. As a result of eliminating household coal-fired heating furnaces, the so-called low-emission zone will be reduced. This task was included in the “Low-Emission Economy Plan for the City of Bolesławiec” and in the Strategy of the Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej for 2015–2020.

In 2016, a concept for heating the Market Square was developed. By October of this year, design documentation for heating the Market Square will be prepared. A tender will then be announced for carrying out the designed works. Construction work, namely the construction of a distribution network around the Market Square (starting from the Magistracka Street side), is scheduled to begin in 2018.

– The first connections are planned for 2019. The order in which connections are made will depend on the order in which building managers submit applications to connect to the municipal district heating network, based on residents’ consent, informs president R. Koronkiewicz. Once residents’ consent has been obtained, we intend to connect the following buildings:

  • Prusa Street 1–33
  • Market Square 1–35, 37, 38
  • Kościelna Street 9–12
  • Sierpnia ’80 Street 1/2
  • Mickiewicza Street 1
  • Śniadeckich Street 1–6
  • Armii Krajowej Street 2–10
  • Teatralna Street 2, 3.

The planned local district heating network—supplied at two points, from the Armii Krajowej Street side and from the Magistracka Street side—will form a ring around the Market Square. In the future, it will be possible to supply the ring additionally from the Kościelna Street side. More information at www.boleslawiec.eu.
