In January, as every year, we sat down with our rally calendar and, while choosing the events we would like to take part in, set our budget. A brief review convinced us that this time, competing throughout the entire season was highly uncertain.
Despite the adversities, still wanting to learn and gain experience, while persistently striving to achieve further goals in a discipline that, as everyone knows, is not cheap, and relying solely on ourselves, we did not give up and decided to fight on the special stages.
Because we continue to raise the bar for ourselves, wanting to develop and improve our skills on rally stages, our ambitions and not yet fully discovered talents were recognized. The result? In the first half of 2016, we signed an agreement with STAG, a fairly well-known Polish company specializing in automotive gas systems. The support contract covered our participation in six events organized by the G4 Rally Masters club as part of the Tarmac and Gravel Masters series. We finally breathed a sigh of relief. A new chapter opened for our club, and we were able to compete in a new category for us: SKJS (Super Competitive Car Driving). From that moment on, we became STAG RALLY TEAM.
Even so, this season was not easy for us. Breakdowns and all kinds of technical problems stubbornly tried to prevent us from achieving our dream goal. However, we always drive at the limits of our abilities, while also learning to calculate our moves. And so, with a little luck as well, we managed to secure podium finishes.
In 2016, we completed three gravel rounds, four tarmac rounds and several other events, in which we focused more on training and testing tires.
As we gained experience, our achievements included the title of Zgorzelec Champion, as well as Vice-Champion and Champion of the Lower Silesian PZM District. Or finally: the 2016 Lower Silesian ASMDŚL PZM Championship in amateur rallies.
By competing in car rallies, we constantly meet new, wonderful people who organize them, and visit various parts of our wonderful Lower Silesia. But above all, sometimes we get to line up alongside such stars as Leszek Kuzaj, Michał Kościuszko and Mariusz Woźniczko. This is probably every beginner rally driver’s dream.
And he adds:
We can confidently say that we did not disappoint, because we stood on the top step of the podium in the Lower Silesian Amateur Car Championships, winning the championship title. We would like to thank the editorial team at istotne.pl and everyone who supported us and worked with us toward this success in the 2016 season.
And now we are waiting for the 2017 event calendar and new challenges.
