The exhibition’s opening took place on 7 December at the Polo Museale del Palazzo della Guardia as part of the Association of Ceramic Municipalities of the Republic of Poland. Our company was represented by Mariusz Ochocki – artistic director. The Polish delegation included: Piotr Roman – Mayor of Bolesławiec, Krzysztof Hewak – President of the Association of Ceramic Municipalities of the Republic of Poland, and Anna Bober-Tubaj – Director of the Ceramic Museum in Bolesławiec. The opening was also attended by: Ewa Mamaj – Head of the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Rome.

As Mariusz Ochocki reports: – The opening was a great success, and the Italians were simply delighted by what they saw. Our designs, shapes, decorations painted using stamps, and forms attracted a great deal of interest. Everything was new and interesting to them. The aim of our trip was to expand our contacts and to attempt to interest Italians in our products, as this is an area where Bolesławiec ceramics are not yet well known. It is not an easy market, but certainly a very inspiring one. Our company presented around 200 designs and shapes. It turned out that stamp decoration is a new field of ceramic art for Italians.

According to Piotr Roman, Mayor of Bolesławiec, the exhibition of Polish ceramics at the Polo Museale del Palazzo della Guardia was intended to present the diversity of Bolesławiec stoneware produced in Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec County. A total of 23 companies took part. The exhibition’s success is confirmed by the fact that the display may also be presented in Rome and in the Paris metropolitan area, in Nogent-sur-Marne.
