The main goal of the project was for the educational staff to acquire new professional skills and apply the knowledge gained in their work with autistic children. It is worth recalling that in July this year, teachers from Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 7 took part in training in Doetinchem (the Netherlands). The training concerned the innovative “Geef me de 5” method of working with an autistic child. During their stay in the Netherlands, the teachers met with the author of the “Geef me de 5” method, Colette de Bruin, and learned about the activities of the Geef me de 5 training and therapy centre.
The “Autism – Help Understand the World” project was carried out as part of the “Mobility of School Education Staff” project, co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Knowledge Education Development Operational Programme via the Foundation for the Development of the Education System.
