On Saturday, the eighth parish festival was held in the park on Tyrankiewiczów Street; it began with an outdoor Mass. After the service, residents of Bolesławiec could take part in numerous competitions and games prepared by the organizers. In addition to the traditional raffle, in which prizes included a pilgrimage to Rome and trips to Paris, Vienna, Budapest and Prague, festival participants could enjoy military pea soup, grilled sausages, slices of bread and various homemade baked goods.
The performers included the Bolesławiec Brass Band, Kapela Herbutów, groups from the Youth Cultural Centre and groups from Bolesławiec schools. The event was hosted by Magdalena Malińska and Bolesław Nowak.
Competitions, games and auctions were held during breaks between performances. The money collected during the festival will be used to renovate historic monuments at the Sanctuary of the Assumed Mother of the Church.
