From January 15 to 28, 2017, football matches of the World Military Cup (Arabian Peninsula) will be held in Oman. One of the footballers of the Polish Military National Team is 25-year-old Jacek Bochnia – a soldier of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec. Jacek began his football adventure in Ocice, from where he moved to BKS. He also played for Karkonosze Jelenia Góra, and is currently a player for Apis Jędrzychowice.

What does Jacek Bochnia say about playing for the Polish Military National Team?

It is a great distinction for me, especially considering how many people wanted to play on the team. It gave me the opportunity to meet many guys from all over Poland who are soldiers and also play for clubs on a daily basis. For a while, while the training camp is taking place, you can feel like you are in a professional club, training twice a day. You can train with several coaches and see their coaching methods. Each of them presents a different one. I am also happy that I will be able to see what teams from other countries have to offer.

He competed for a place in the military national team with nearly a hundred other candidates from various military units. The selection took place in March at the facility of the 31st Tactical Air Base in Poznań-Krzesiny. With the national team, the popular Jaca secured qualification for the World Cup at a June qualifying tournament in Germany. The Poles lost to the hosts, Germany, 1–4, but defeated the Netherlands 2–1 and Lithuania 5–0. Jacek plays as a central midfielder for the military national team.
