After being buried by earth, when the tremor stopped, the miner began digging himself out, and rescuers then helped him. He is currently in hospital in Bolesławiec. Paweł Piwowarski is under observation. He has numerous bruises, but his life is no longer in danger. When he recovers, he will decide whether to continue working at the mine. He expresses his condolences to the families whose loved ones died. He knew them all.

– I felt rocks falling onto my back – said Paweł Piwowarski, who survived the rockburst. – I remember every detail – he added. Falling rocks bruised him, but his condition is good. – I tried to get out. I was retreating from that place – he recounts the nightmare that occurred underground. He adds that he knew the miners who died in the disaster at the Rudna Mine.

– I was in contact with each of them almost every day. Two of them and I commuted to work on the same bus – Paweł Piwowarski recounts.

The search operation ended on the evening of November 30. Eight people died as a result of a spontaneous rock-mass tremor with an energy of 1x108 J, and nine were hospitalized.
