The semi-final matches of the provincial-level cup competition are behind us. In the first cup semi-final, played on 6 May, Górnik Polkowice defeated Cement Raciborowice 2–0.
The second semi-final was played on 20 May, in which Lechia Dzierżoniów faced Ślęza Wrocław. The match ended in a 1–1 draw, so penalty kicks decided who would advance to the final. Lechia were better in the shootout, defeating Ślęza 5–4.
The final will therefore feature Górnik Polkowice and Lechia Dzierżoniów.
The final of the Lower Silesian Polish Cup will take place on 27 May at the Municipal Stadium in Bolesławiec. Kick-off is at 5:00 p.m.
Update
The final was originally scheduled for 10 June.
Why was it moved to 27 May?
According to DZPN, both teams (the cup finalists) have a chance of promotion (in the league competition). Hence the change.
DZPN:
Had the final been played on the original date of 10 June, players from both clubs would have had to take the field in play-off matches just one day later. Hence the decision to change the date: fans will watch the grand final already next Wednesday at 5:00 p.m..
