A partial acceptance of the road construction works took place on Herberta Street in Bolesławiec. As part of the investment, approximately 800 m of road with an asphalt-concrete surface was built. The pavements, driveways and hardened verges have surfaces made of grey and red concrete paving blocks. The works also included road drainage and lighting. Twenty-nine lighting columns with LED light sources were installed. The contractor is Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Drogowych from Jałowiec near Lubań. PLN 951,486 was allocated for this purpose from the city budget.
The partial acceptance concerns all works completed by 14 November 2016, excluding the scope of works covering the intersection of Herberta Street and provincial road no. 297 – Jeleniogórska Street. Because of procedures related to obtaining permission to cut down a tree conflicting with the investment, in which a habitat of the great capricorn beetle (a beetle under strict species protection) was found, the works at the intersection could not be carried out. After the necessary approvals were obtained, the great capricorn beetle was moved to another site. The road connection will be completed by the end of April 2017.
It is worth recalling that the works on Herberta Street are a continuation of road investments in the newly established estate of detached and terraced houses. In January this year, the construction of the road, pavements and cycle path on Rzemieślnicza Street was completed. As a result of the completed investments, approximately 1,200 m of new roads were created in the estate popularly known as “Wojskowa Górka”. The total cost of building Herberta Street and Rzemieślnicza Street amounted to nearly PLN 2 million.
“For next year, the draft budget includes further roads in new estates,” informs Bolesławiec mayor Piotr Roman. Roads will be built on Zielona Street – the road towards Łaziska – and on Rotmistrza Pileckiego Street – the road connecting Śluzowa Street with Garncarska Street.
