Smart and educational fun involving books is the hallmark of Primary School No. 2, one of the schools involved in the All of Poland Reads to Kids campaign. Various initiatives promoting reading have been organized at the school since 1995. The children love the meetings prepared for them with authors of fairy tales and epigrams, as well as the special literary competitions and games organized for them.
On Thursday, November 24, International Teddy Bear Day was celebrated with games and competitions, as well as readings from Czesław Janczarski’s book about the adventures of Teddy Bear Uszatek and his friends by invited guests: Deputy Mayor Kornel Filipowicz, head of CIK Orzeł Jacek Dudyński, children’s book author and journalist Grażyna Hanaf, Municipal Public Library librarian Dorota Kasprzyk, and director of Municipal School Complex No. 3 Irena Sikora-Kołodyńska. The guests read to the children and assessed the participants’ singing and musical performances, as well as recitations. The children prepared songs and poems featuring teddy bears. Everyone had a great time, and the children were proud of their performances. The youngest guests, the kindergarten children, were able to get to know the school and the activities that would soon be awaiting them there. The event was prepared by: Monika Grzyb, Małgorzata Oleś, Elżbieta Grzyb and teachers of grades 1–2. The event coordinator was Monika Grzyb.
