The incident occurred before midnight at the intersection of Cieszkowskiego Street and Staszica Street in Bolesławiec. A Seat driven by Ukrainians, bearing Bolesławiec registration plates, struck a Volkswagen traveling properly along Cieszkowskiego Street, with Legnica registration plates. Preliminary findings indicate that the Seat driver exceeded the speed limit and failed to yield to the Volkswagen driver.
The cars were badly damaged, but neither driver suffered anything more serious. One of the Ukrainians fled the scene. It is already known that the Seat driver was intoxicated.
