– 2016, declared the Year of Sienkiewicz by the Senate, was an excellent time for all our students to learn about the life and work of this great Polish writer – says Zdzisława Woźniak, headteacher of the Powiatowy Zespół Szkół i Placówek Specjalnych w Bolesławcu. The culmination of all the activities undertaken at the special school was a tournament modelled on the popular TV quiz show “One of Ten.” Anyone who wished could demonstrate their knowledge of Henryk Sienkiewicz’s life and work, particularly the plot of the school reading assignment “In Desert and Wilderness.”
The winners of the class-level qualifiers met on 16 November for the all-school tournament. Students from all types of schools took part in the competition: primary school, lower secondary school and the vocational preparation school
The competition winners were:
- Dariusz Myślicki from Year 3 of the vocational preparation school
- Karolina Połeć from Year 3 of lower secondary school
- Marcin Kozioł from Year 3 of the vocational preparation school.
