To commemorate this important anniversary, the students of class IVa and the “DrugaCy” ensemble, under the direction of Melania Balińska, presented a moving history lesson in the form of a patriotic school ceremony, with the participation of the ensemble. The students were prepared by their form teacher, Agnieszka Markowicz, and the Student Council supervisor, Adrian Banyś.
The “DrugaCy” artistic group opened the ceremony with the song “What Kind of Day Is This?”. In a very engaging and vivid way, using poems and patriotic songs, the children presented the tragic fate of our Homeland and the difficult path to regaining freedom. The schoolchildren watched and listened to this special history lesson with interest and in concentration.
At the end of the ceremony, headteacher Dorota Basiak thanked the performers and stressed that it is not easy to understand concepts such as “war” or “captivity”, but by organizing such ceremonies we can bring these issues a little closer and teach patriotism and respect for our homeland.
