The music video was filmed in a unique location near Bolesławiec: an abandoned housing estate in Pstrążę. It is due to be demolished soon.
The Rebel Babel project was launched on the initiative of Wrocław musicians, composers and performers L.U.C and Adam Lepka, as well as Danish composer and conductor Feat. Jan. Its premise is to serve as a mini-platform for meetings between professional hip-hop musicians and selected brass bands: municipal, mining and fire service ensembles. These meetings result in extraordinary hip-hop-folk projects on the borderline between different musical worlds. The video for “Sekunda” was recorded on an abandoned housing estate of former Soviet residential blocks in Pstrążę—a village near Bolesławiec known as the Polish Chernobyl, or the City of Ghosts. This is probably the last artistic work that was managed to be created in this location. Pstrążę is currently being demolished and will soon disappear from the map entirely.
The musical postcard by Rahim and the “Bolesławiec” Municipal Brass Orchestra opens the second RAPocztówka series in history. “These exceptional micro-videos are becoming a unique scenic travelogue,” says one of the project’s originators, Jan Feat, while L.U.C, who leads the initiative, emphasizes that “RAPocztówki” is “a socio-educational project focused on the energy circulation of meetings between amateurs and professionals.
