The teachers Monika Grzyb, Elżbieta Grzyb and Małgorzata Oleś prepared an event full of games called “Fairy-Tale Character Day”. The event prepared for the children had two aims: promoting reading and helping homeless animals, for whom autumn and winter are a difficult time. In their classes, the children collected food and products for cats and dogs, which were donated to the Animal Aid Association and handed over to Czesława Szandrowska and Elżbieta Czyżowicz.
The next part of the programme was reading the children an excerpt from Gösta Knutsson’s popular book “The Adventures of Filonek the Tailless”. The invited guests who read the excerpt were Irena Sikora-Kołodyńska and Sylwia Łukasiewicz-Nawieśniak. The children were then invited to take part in activities involving tasks related to the book. They listened carefully to the fairy-tale story, as they completed the tasks very well and received cookie points. Next, the classes presented short scenes with songs and dances for the guests. The guests received beautiful thank-you gifts, while the classes received certificates for participating in the campaign. The meeting ended with commemorative photographs. The students learned a new story and also showed empathy towards our smaller brothers. We encourage everyone to get involved in the collection of food and products for animals organised by the Animal Care Association.
