The spouses were honored with diplomas and medals for long marital service. The latter are awarded to people who have spent 50 years in a single marriage. On behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland, the distinguished jubilaries were decorated by Bolesławiec Deputy Mayor Kornel Filipowicz. “Dear Jubilarians, you have spent a long period of your lives together. Surely, there were periods of prosperity and satisfaction in your marriage, but there were also difficult, bitter moments requiring sacrifices and renunciation. The most important thing is that you were together in good times and bad. This is also one of the reasons why the 50th wedding anniversary is rightly regarded in our society as a momentous event,” K. Filipowicz emphasized.
The ceremony was enhanced by a performance by students from the State Music School in Bolesławiec.
