Marek Krajewski – a writer and classical philologist. For many years, he taught classes at Uniwersytet Wrocławski, which he gave up in 2007 to devote himself exclusively to writing books. He contributed significantly to the revival of Polish crime fiction at the beginning of the 21st century, particularly crime novels in the retro and noir subgenres. The cycle about Eberhard Mock from Wrocław was joined by the Lviv police officer Edward Popielski. These novels are still being reissued and have already been translated into 20 languages, including English, German, Dutch, French, Italian, Hebrew, Macedonian and Greek. Together with Mariusz Czubaj, he wrote and published contemporary crime novels in 2008 and 2009 about Superintendent Jarosław Patera from Gdańsk (“Aleję samobójców” and “Róże cmentarne”).

In 2015, the crime-fiction master broke through the boundaries of literary fiction and, together with renowned pathologist Jerzy Kawecki, published the book “Umarli maja głos”, containing descriptions of shocking crimes from the time of Katyń, through the Polish People’s Republic, up to the present day. The book was nominated in the 2015 Book of the Year poll on Lubimyczytać.pl in the non-fiction category.

On 14 September 2016, the latest novel by the Wrocław writer, “Mock”, premiered. It was already the sixteenth book in Marek Krajewski’s body of work, counting from the first edition of the bestselling “Śmierć w Breslau” in 1999!

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 26 October at Galeria Format (Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna w Bolesławcu). It starts at 5:00 p.m..
