The largest Club of Councillors of the Democratic Left Alliance has 9 members. It is headed by councillor Stanisław ANDRUSIECZKO, a member of the City Board. It uses the premises of the SdRP District Council at 15 Opitza Street; councillors’ duty hours are held on Tuesdays (4–6 p.m.). A large number of Bolesławiec residents interested in the city’s affairs and their own problems use this form of contact. Meetings of councillors in the Discussion Club with SdRP members and supporters are also held here. It is an important source of information and an opportunity to exchange views on the work of the city authorities and life in the town on the Bóbr. Meetings with SLD parliamentarians, which attract large attendance, have also become a good tradition here. The names of Senator Jerzy Cieślak and MP Jerzy Szmajdziński speak for themselves. The new chairman of the SdRP District Council, Kazimierz Sas, initiated a meeting with the SLD Club councillors concerning the main problems affecting the local community and ways of resolving them.
