On 4 March 1995, couples from all over Poland met for the first time at a tournament organized by the Piotr and Renata Skowroński Dance School. Fifty-one couples from 21 clubs accepted the invitation to participate in the tournament. Primary School No. 2 acted as a co-organizer and provided its sports hall.
The dance competitions took place in three age groups: children up to 10 years old, older children aged 11–12, and juniors aged 13–14. Ballroom-dance enthusiasts and fans, watching the competing couples, could move into the colorful world of dance. Parents, moved grandmothers, and fascinated friends—all cheered for their loved ones. The atmosphere was warmed by music specially prepared for the competition among children’s couples.
The organizers were honored by the presence of Deputy Mayor of the City Jan Jasiukiewicz. Bolesławiec was represented by two clubs: AKT “TOPAZ” from the Bolesławiec Community Centre and the young “PASJA” club—the tournament’s second co-organizer, operating at the P. and R. Skowroński Dance School.
The couple Sebastian Hałocha and Justyna Stefanowska from the “PASJA” club at the P. and R. Skowroński Dance School undoubtedly achieved a major success: in the category for children up to 10 years old, they took third place and also won the audience award. During a break in the tournament competitions, the organizers entertained the audience with performances by the youngest dancers—students presenting other forms of dance, including disco. Every tournament participant was welcomed with a sweet treat, and every girl received a flower.
Thanks to the generous founders of the prizes, sponsors, and the parents of children dancing in AKT “PASJA,” the tournament became a permanent fixture in the calendar of events organized by the P. and R. Skowroński Dance School. Once again, we thank everyone involved in organizing the tournament.
