Three residents of the rural Bolesławiec municipality, aged 29 to 32, have been arrested by police. They stole diesel fuel from trucks in parking lots and near petrol stations. Police determined that the perpetrators drained fuel from the tanks at night while the truck drivers were asleep. According to investigators, the suspects may have committed more than a dozen such thefts in Bolesławiec County and neighbouring counties.
Officers estimate that the thieves stole more than 1,500 litres of fuel. All three now face up to 10 years in prison.
