On 28 May 1995, a group of young people from Denmark arrived in Bolesławiec (9 boys + 7 girls + 4 chaperones). The students from the secondary school warmly welcomed the guests and then took them to their accommodation (the school dormitory). In the morning, breakfast prepared by the students was served in the school cafeteria, followed by a tour of the school and the city (including its historic monuments). For lunch, the Polish students took the Danish students to their homes, and later they explored the city and went shopping in small groups.
In the evening, there was a bonfire on the grounds of the military unit, with sausages being roasted and songs sung together.
The guests left happy and charmed by our hospitality, while we said goodbye to them sadly, regretting that their visit had been so short. They left us gifts in the form of typewriters, computers and a photocopier. The event was a great success, and we owe it all to our wonderful sponsors, whom we sincerely thank: Kruk Confectionery for the cookies; Mr Szweda from Kraśnik for the sausages; the Bolesławiec Dairy for the dairy products; Mr Kuliński for the bread and drinks; and Mr Janusz Jakubowski for the ceramics. The entire event was coordinated by Janina Majewska, Chairwoman of the Parents’ Committee, and on behalf of the school, by Mr I. Cempura.
