On 18 May, the second Miss and Mister of Bolesławiec Commune competition was held in the GOKiS hall in Kruszyn. The event took the form of a contest combined with fun. The participants were on average 8–10 years old and came from seven localities (Brzeźnik, Kruszyn, Nowa Wieś Kraśnicka, Dąbrowa, Kraśnik Dolny, Źeliszów, Bożejowice.)
The children competed in events requiring acting, vocal and dancing skills. Their great sense of humour and intelligence were highly rated.
The competition committee, made up of GOKiS employees, selected Miss Ewelina Nakonieczna from Kraśnik Dolny and Mister Bartek Rajczakowski from Nowa Wieś Kraśnicka after heated deliberations. The runners-up were, respectively: first runner-up... Dominika Orawiec from Brzeźnik and Marcin Ostrowski from Kruszyn; second runner-up... Marcelina Kimera from Kruszyn and Radosław Kondas from Żeliszów; third runner-up Karolina Horodyska from Brzeźnik and Grzegorz Baik from Dąbrowa.
All participants received colourful piggy banks as keepsakes, while the winners received attractive prizes. Great praise is due to the wonderful artists Krzysztof Marchel and Krzysztof Wolański, who had the audience laughing to tears in the “situations” drawn by the competition participants.
Our graciously reigning Ewelina and Bartek departed for their localities with golden crowns on their heads and full of optimism about the duties awaiting them as crowned heads.
