At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, TAEKWONDO will be, alongside JUDO, the second martial art in which competitors will compete for medals. Athletes from Bolesławiec’s WTF TAEKWONDO CLUB have a good chance of appearing at the Olympics. There are still several years left until the 2000 Olympics, but preparations are already under way. The Polish Taekwondo Association and the Olympic Committee have established a list of coaches who will prepare the athletes, and we are pleased that MAREK TYCZYŃSKI, the coach of the Bolesławiec TAEKWONDO Club, is among the eleven coaches. Marek will be responsible for preparing a group of juniors, and this is where we see an opportunity for our athletes. They may take part in the Olympics, but training and progressing through the national competitions are required. Recruitment of athletes has begun under the slogan “OLYMPIC HOPES”.
