On 9 September, the athletics inauguration of the 1995/96 school sports year took place at the stadium of the Inter-School Sports Centre. The event was organised by the Municipal Branch Board of SZS and MOS in Bolesławiec.
The event attracted great interest, bringing together a total of 284 male and female competitors from primary and secondary schools in four age categories: children, under-16s, juniors and younger juniors.
The following events were held: 60 m, 100 m, 110 m hurdles, 300 m, 600 m and 1,000 m races, as well as the high jump, long jump, javelin throw, palant ball throw and shot put.
The chief judge of the competition was Stanisław Merdas. MOS Director Stanisław Szypulski highlighted several results deserving special mention, particularly those achieved by athletes from the MKS-MOS "Bolesławia" club: 110 m hurdles – Tomasz Chojnacki with a time of 16.4 seconds in the younger juniors category, Daniel Małachowski with a time of 16.8 seconds and Katarzyna Pławiak with 16.7 seconds in the under-16s category; 100 m – Paweł Moroz, 11.0 seconds in the juniors category; 1,000 m – Krzysztof Ramza with a time of 2:40.4 in the juniors category, and Robert Kuśmierczak, 2:45.5 minutes in the under-16s category.
