Here is a brief interview with coach Mirosław Szapiel.
1.Congratulations on taking first place in our poll. Did you expect such an outcome?
—I am pleasantly surprised that the fans still remember me, and I dedicate the title to my wife Jolanta and daughter Paulina.
2.What do you think about your protégé Marek's victory?
—I believe Marek Dąbrowski's victory is well deserved, and I believe he will play in the highest national league.
3.It seems to me that you also owe the title to the team you coached for seven years?
—Of course, I confirm that I was fortunate to have solid material for developing footballers, and there were tangible successes during our years of joint work. I will mention only the regional championships in various age categories, culminating in promotion to the District League.
4.Everyone was surprised by your decision to resign as coach in November 1994. What caused it?
—One of the reasons, and the most important one for me, was the fact that some Club officials from its board were pleased by the defeats of my junior team and me.
5.Resignation—and what next? Do you perhaps have any offers for further coaching work?
—I have received offers, but for now I am resting and devoting my free time to my family.
6.Spring will come, and with it the start of the return round. Will your heart beat faster?
—My heart is with the team; after all, it is my work, and I believe they will win. I wish them success. Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank all the sponsors who supported me and my team. In particular, I would mention the management of “Polfa” and my direct superiors.
Thank you for the interview.
