I would like to thank all Readers who took part in this event for their interest and for sending in coupons with their choices. Our laureates have formed a sporting partnership for seven years. Marek Dąbrowski began his sporting adventure with the youth team of BKS Bolesławiec, and his first coach was M. Szapiel. After ending his career as a BKS player, Mirosław Szapiel took up youth coaching. He selected a football team that he led and trained, defeating successive opponents. The crowning achievement of his work was the promotion of the BKS Bolesławiec team to the inter-district junior league, which is the highest junior league in Poland.
Marek has been the captain, the best player and, at the same time, the team’s most effective goalscorer virtually from the beginning. In congratulating the winners, I also wish all the other athletes and coaches many successes in the current year and the highest possible placing in next year’s Plebiscite. I hope it will enjoy greater popularity among our Readers and attract the interest of potential sponsors.
