With a delay (there was no space in "Głos"), we are printing the information sent to us on January 12 of this year by Ms D. ZIELIŃSKA. The issue deserves to be highlighted, and the campaign is timeless in nature: it is worthwhile to bring people joy every day – in one form or another. We are pleased by such a wide circle of people of goodwill, which is why we carefully record all the names and facts. We reproduce the letter in full.
In December 1994, a campaign was held under this very slogan. The originator of the campaign was Mr Bogdan Pieliński, former head of Telewizja Lokalna Bolesławiec; the co-organizers were Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury, Polski Czerwony Krzyż, Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Dzieci, Miejski Ośrodek Pomocy Społecznej and Polski Komitet Pomocy Społecznej.
On December 11, 1994, a great charity concert by the Spirituals Singers Band from Wrocław took place. A collection and an auction of drawings and posters were held during the concert. Thanks to this campaign, 18,075,300 zł was collected, as well as in-kind aid (citrus fruits, oils and other fats, cosmetics, clothing) worth 40,000,000 old złoty. The organizers prepared a Christmas Eve celebration at the Day Care Center for children (52 children) who did not know the Christmas Eve tradition, as well as for 100 lonely and poor people. Every guest received a gift.
The Mayor of the City, Józef Król, the Chairman of the Municipal Council, Władysław Landsberg, and priests took part in both events. The young people from Bolesławiec schools gathered around Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Dzieci prepared a beautiful artistic program. Young people from PCK school circles also helped.
Moreover, food products worth more than 4,000,000 old złoty were purchased for the children from Nasz Dom Dziecka. The Polish Red Cross branch in Bolesławiec distributed family food packages to 150 people.
The campaign took place thanks to the wonderful people who wanted to help us: the owner of a margarine wholesaler, Mr Bronisław Kozłowski; the owner of the MAXPOL wholesaler, Mr Zbigniew Partyka; the owners of the OPTY production facility in Kruszyn; the owners of the wholesaler, Mr J. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Gospodarstwo Rybackie in Parowa; Mr Ryszard Klapa from the "Zodiak" bar; the owners of "Kakbol", Mr Jerzy and Mr Krzysztof Kubicki, and Wiesław Augustyniak; the owner, Mr Marian Stachów, of the Poultry Hatchery; the owners of the Grocery Store, Mr R.
