Professor Jan Miodek, an outstanding expert on the Polish language, needs no introduction. The audiovisual mass media, especially television and radio, fascinated not only by the highest-class professional’s linguistic culture but also by the professor’s personal culture and kindness toward the whole world, do this effectively.
Our colleague, Mr. Zdzisław Mirecki, recently received a letter from the professor. We reproduce the manuscript in full:
"Dear and Respected Mr. Magister! My wife and I send you our warmest regards, thanking you for supplying us with materials from places close to our hearts. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish you nothing but good days in 1995. With expressions of respect and sympathy
Jan Miodek"
A brief comment from the Editorial Office. On 21 July 1968, Professor JAN MIODEK married Teresa Tacz anowska, a woman from Bolesławiec, in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bołesławiec. The wedding ceremony was officiated by the late Reverend Stanisław MIĘTUS.
