Jelenia Góra, 13 November 1995
Senator of the Republic of Poland Jerzy Cieślak
Board of the Local Branch
of the Polish Red Cross
in Bolesławiec
I would like to kindly thank you for the invitation to the Ceremonial Academy on the occasion of Blood Donor Days. Unfortunately, on that day, while carrying out my duties as the Senate of the Republic of Poland’s permanent delegate to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, I will be visiting centers for asylum seekers in Denmark.
It is with undisguised satisfaction that I wish to inform the honorary blood donors of the Jelenia Góra Voivodeship that last month the Senate introduced an amendment to the Act on charges for medicines and medical supplies, under which distinguished honorary blood donors became entitled to free medicines. The Sejm was unable to reject this Senate amendment with the required two-thirds majority. Thus, with a sense of having honorably fulfilled a moral obligation, I send all honorary blood donors and their families my deepest respect and my warmest wishes for success in their honorable service to society and in their personal lives.
