A day such as the anniversary of the restoration of independence should be an occasion for joy and celebration. Wherever this date was remembered, people surely recalled the euphoria with which Poles welcomed 11 November 1918—at last, a free Poland.
Bolesławiec Cultural Centre also prepared such an "independence" gift for you in the form of a concert by "Spirituels Singers Band" and an exhibition of chrysanthemums, whose nostalgic charm reminded us more of summer than of an autumn landscape; the exhibition was dedicated to the heroes of 11 November 1918. During the concert, the artists thanked one sponsor ("Pub Brytania"); I would like to thank the people and institutions without whom this idea could not have become reality. I would therefore like to thank Ms Irena Majewska for the chrysanthemums from which we were able to create compositions and the many bouquets of flowers presented to artists over the years; I thank the Artist who wishes to remain anonymous for the beautiful glass spheres—true artistic marvels; I thank Mr H. Jeliński for the beautiful colorful vases; I thank Ms Monika Dąbrowska, owner of the flower shop at ul. Sierpnia 80/17, who was the only person to respond to the invitation to participate in the chrysanthemum exhibition. Those present at the concert could not fail to notice the beautiful, discreetly resplendent stage decoration in shades of gold—its creator was Ms Bożena Jedrzejczyk.
