After a six-year break, on October 12, 1995, a campfire was lit again among the Dreptusie Cub Scout group operating at the primary school in Nowa Wieś Kraśnicka. Around 30 candidates for Cub Scouts gathered around the merrily dancing spark. The Cub Scout start and work for the 1995/96 year began with the song “The campfire burns...”. The glow of the fire (the campfire burned from 6:00 p.m.) attracted older children from grades IV–VII. Approximately 60 people said goodbye with a fraternal handshake and the words: “...the glow of the campfire is already fading...”. The two-hour gathering passed very quickly. The Cub Scouts and older children spent the evening happily together.
This celebration will remain in the children’s memories for a long time. This wonderful campfire gathering instilled in the children a taste for Scout and Cub Scout activities. The Cub Scouts eagerly await each subsequent meeting. I hope that, thanks to belonging to the Cub Scout group, the Cub Scouts from Nowa Wieś will experience many more wonderful adventures.
The large number of older children attending the campfire gathering prompted one more reflection: not only little ones need play, but their somewhat older peers also want to meet adventure halfway. The wonderful, harmonious fun of “little and big” children is the beginning of mutual cooperation and activity. I would like to thank Teachers Jolanta Pańczak and Anna Boczarska, who teach at the local school, for helping to supervise the children’s safety during the gathering and on their way home.
The editorial staff of Głos Bolesławca congratulates Druhna Różycka and wishes the Cub Scouts good times, many adventures and fond memories in their Cub Scout activities.
Cub Scouts, be alert!
