BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec’s senior team began the new season with a defeat. On Saturday, Bolesławiec hosted Prochowiczanka Prochowice. In the 7th minute, Krzysztof Szymański failed to take advantage of a good scoring opportunity. Sławomir Iskrzak played the ball into the penalty area, and Szymański hit the side netting.
In the 24th minute, Andrzej Węgłowski shot at the Bolesławiec goal. Fortunately, the shot was off target. Four minutes later, the visitors took the lead. Following a Prochowiczanka counterattack, Węgłowski put the ball into the net. In the 39th minute, Tomasz Jasiński missed a good chance to equalize. The Bolesławiec player shot straight at the visiting goalkeeper. In the 45th minute, Jacek Nowak narrowly missed the Bolesławiec goal.
Seven minutes after the restart, Bolesławiec equalized. New BKS player Sławomir Iskrzak got on the scoresheet. Unfortunately, in the 59th minute the visitors took the lead again. Andrzej Węgłowski scored Prochowiczanka’s second goal. Two minutes later, the visitors from Prochowice scored a third. This time, Wojciech Wawryk got on the scoresheet. In the 83rd minute, Grzegorz Nowak scored a goal for BKS to reduce the deficit. The score did not change until the end of the match. Bolesławiec lost 2–3 to Prochowiczanka Prochowice.
BKS started the match with the following lineup: Marek Przykłota, Grzegorz Nowak, Sebastian Tylutki, Paweł Demczar, Marek Kumoś, Krzysztof Szymański, Mateusz Mucha, Tomasz Jasiński, Daniel Góralewski, Sławomir Iskrzak and Paweł Rissmann.
“The club’s primary objective is to achieve what we failed to accomplish last season. We were two good matches short; we could have won them, but we lost them through our own fault. We are still fighting for promotion. We did not manage it last season, so we will try to do it this season. In addition to the two new players, the team will be strengthened by the juniors. The group of juniors who did not make the first team will gain experience in the reserve team,” explains Jan Woch.
Changes to the team
Chrystian Serkies, Radosław Szajwaj and Marcin Ogórek will no longer play for the team in the 2008/2009 season. The first became a Górnik Polkowice player, while the second joined Polonia Świdnica. Marcin Ogórek, meanwhile, is a Prochowiczanka Prochowice player. Sławomir Iskrzak joined BKS. The player most recently played for Twardy Świętoszów. Sebastian Tylutki, known to Bolesławiec supporters, returned to the team. The coach is Krzysztof Lechowski.
