An unknown man entered an elderly woman’s apartment under the pretext of delivering a package from the Polish Red Cross, and then, taking advantage of a moment when she was distracted, stole her money (PLN 13 million and more than 1,000 DM);
At the military training ground in Pstrąże, soldiers detained the perpetrators of the theft of metal components from an overhead crane;
- In Godziszów, a VW Golf travelling from the direction of Zgorzelec struck a 75-year-old woman who was crossing the road with a bicycle; she died at the scene;
- In Parzyce, the driver of a Mercedes moved into the left lane and collided head-on with another Mercedes. One of the passengers sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital;
- During a disco at the “Oleńka” bar in Brzeźnik, a 25-year-old man was struck on the head and died from his injuries after returning home. Police identified the perpetrator of the fatal assault and placed him in custody;
- On Road No. 4, the driver of a Fiat 125 veered into a ditch and struck a tree. The driver’s 4-year-old son sustained serious injuries;
- On Optiza Street, the driver of a small Fiat hit a 7-year-old boy who suddenly ran into the road;
- On Karola Miarki Street, a minor stopped another minor who was riding a mountain bike. He took the bicycle and then sold it to another minor for PLN 250,000. The police referred the cases of both minors to the Family Court;
- On the road from Bolesławiec to the motorway, a Ford driver picked up passing hitchhikers. While driving on the motorway, he was threatened with a weapon, beaten and robbed of his car and documents. Together with another driver he happened upon, he pursued the perpetrators of the theft to Wrocław. There he notified the police, and as a result of a police operation the stolen car was recovered and the perpetrators were placed in custody,
