On the occasion of National Independence Day, the 3rd Table Tennis Tournament was held on November 13 in the gymnasium of Primary School No. 3. It was organized by MOSiR and conducted by Sławomir Rospondek. The event proved quite popular and is attracting an increasing number of participants. Results: In the juniors’ category, first place went to Szymon Dajczuk, ahead of Piotr Baran and Krzysztof Ruliński. In the seniors’ category, first place went to Norbert Stolicki, second to Kazimierz Prokowski, and third to Tomasz Boratyński. In the older seniors’ category, first place went to Remigiusz Kacperczyk, second to Jan Alianowicz, and third to Sławomir Rospondek. The winners received commemorative diplomas and material prizes funded by the organizer.
The OGNIK EKSPERT company has now become a permanent sponsor of the BKS Bolesławiec senior team. With the sponsor’s support, the footballers are achieving better results: they defeated Włókniarz Kudowa 3–0 and drew 1–1 with Polonia Wrocław and Sparta Ziębice.
Despite their better play, BKS are 13th in the senior inter-district league table, with 11 points. In the spring, our footballers face a difficult fight to remain in the league.
The BKS juniors ended the autumn round with a match against Śląsk Wrocław in Wrocław, unfortunately losing 1–4. The team’s consolation goal was scored by captain Marek Dąbrowski from a penalty. In 13 matches, the juniors earned 12 points, placing them 10th, but they are separated from the third team in the table by only 2 points. Considering the team’s steady progress, one can optimistically look forward to the return round.
The juniors’ top scorer is Marek Dąbrowski, with 6 goals. The remaining goals were scored by: Łukasz Popek 3, Daniel Giza 2, and Bartek Kubica, Janusz Stec and Robert Nitarski 1 each.
Among the seniors, Włodzimierz Pałka scored the most goals – 5. If our best striker had appeared in every match, particularly away matches, his and the team’s goal tally would probably have been much better. In the final of the primary-school competition in the so-called five-a-side football format, featuring players born in 1981, the teams from Primary School No. 3 and Primary School Brzeźnik met. After a dramatic match decided in extra time and by penalty kicks, the representatives of Bolesławiec’s “third school” won. Marcin Graczyk stood out among the winners, while Aleksander Kot was the outstanding player for the defeated team.
BKS has gained another section: basketball players born in 1981, competing in the youth category. They have had mixed fortunes on the court, and after their most recent victory over MDK Jelenia Góra, they are fourth in the table.
In the older juniors’ match in the regional league, their final opponent of the autumn round was Olsza from Olszyna Lubańska. The captain, who is also the goalkeeper, is Tomasz Kossowski. BKS’s first goal in the match was scored by our team’s player Tomasz Kosowski. (Such an interesting coincidence of surnames—though please note the single “s” in the second surname.) The match ended with an 8–1 victory for BKS.
