Beautiful poems do not come exclusively from the pens of adult, experienced poets. The Municipal Poetry Writing Competition stirred the imaginations of children and young people from primary schools. The results exceeded our expectations. Many interesting works arrived from across our Municipality.
The Competition Committee, composed of Maria Sobolska, MA, Stanisława Zięcik and Grażyna Wężyk, selected the winners. The two first places went to: Anna Kwaśniewska from Dąbrowa and Artur Złotek from Brzeźnik. Second place went to Renata Skiba from Brzeźnik, while third place was also shared equally by Iwona Krawczyk from Dąbrowa and Michał Mierzwa from Brzeźnik. Mariola Wojtowicz from Brzeźnik received fourth place. Honorable mentions went to: Ewelina Ilczyna, Monika Cieśla, Lucyna Bachus, Anna Kwaśniewska (for a second poem), Paweł Wojtyna and Grzegorz Baik.
Below, we publish the poems by the first-place winners. We will publish the poems by the other winners in the next issues of "Głos ".
HOPE
You will braid plaits From the green memories of summer.
You will hold me close
Autumn’s bright face Breaks through the cold; misty gray meadows Will bring the time of parting near. The cranes will fly away somewhere. The water in the pond will freeze,
The forest will grow quiet
And the dance of white birds Will weave its bed.
Cover me
But if you wish
I will come with the spring rain,
With the scent of lilac
And once again you will braid
Summer’s green plait
A dream’s memory
Anna Kwaśniewska, sixth grade
"Autumn"
Autumn again, gray and gloomy all around, Autumn again, leaves are falling from the trees. Autumn again, just as every year, Autumn again, and life goes on. Clouds as heavy as curtains Chase a cloudy day across the sky, And I smile at you Because then life feels lighter.
