In the latest issue of "Głos Bolesławca," the editors published an article in this column addressing matters troubling the people of Bolesławiec. Admittedly, this is, as I presume, only one excerpt from among these problems. I do not want to justify the situation described by the article’s author, but personally, as a police officer, I was affected by the wording concerning whether police officers penalize those responsible for poor visibility in areas around roads. Of course, I do not take the article personally, meaning that I do not see it as criticism directed solely and exclusively at the police. I am pleased that, in this series, someone is finally doing something to care about safety together with the police. On the other hand, I would point out that the police are not responsible for the proper marking of roads, traffic solutions in the city, bridge and road repairs (national and regional), the working hours of repair crews, etc. Questions and suggestions concerning these matters should be directed straight to those responsible for them. As I said, I am pleased that it is not only the police who care about our shared safety. I hope that a collective outcry is stronger than a single voice.
Together with the Police, Concerned for Safety
