From the driver’s and pedestrian’s perspective.
The increased traffic remains a nuisance for residents of Al. Tysiąclecia and the “Zgorzelec bypass.” At night, between 11 p.m. and midnight and between 4 and 5 a.m., the intervals between columns of passenger cars, delivery vehicles and TIR trucks do not exceed... 20 seconds. How can anyone rest after work and sleep peacefully here?
The renovation of the bridge over the Bóbr is dragging on! It is difficult to blame the weather, because it has been exceptionally favorable this year. I do wonder, however, whether the deadline was set deliberately—right during the holiday and tourist season! During this same period, other roadworks were undertaken on the bypass (ul. Chrobrego), precisely at the intersection with ul. Staroszkolna. As usual, someone forgot to mark the area properly.
Many road signs are obscured by overgrown bushes and weeds. They are invisible to drivers. Do traffic police patrols notice this and issue fines to those responsible for this state of affairs?
When turning from ul. Staroszkolna into ul. Gałczyńskiego, one can see, right on the corner, a built garbage shelter that completely blocks visibility for vehicles heading toward the wholesale store and allotment gardens (traveling straight ahead). Something must be done about this!
The intersection of Al. Tysiąclecia and the “Zgorzelec bypass” is equipped with traffic lights featuring a green arrow for right turns. German drivers often fail to notice this and patiently wait for the lights to change. This is not a sin, but the locals refuse to give up and sound their horns, confusing drivers with foreign license plates. Recently, a Fiat 126p from Nowogrodziec, fifth in line, drove onto the pavement and thus passed the waiting drivers, endangering pedestrians. How can you not tap someone on the forehead for that! One more remark, or rather a suggestion: an information sign reading “Zgorzelec 8” should be mounted on the arm for drivers turning from Al. Tysiąclecia onto the bypass. Increasingly often, TIR trucks drive straight through the intersection and get lost on ul. Asnyka. The existing structure could be used for this purpose, so the inconvenience would be minor.
