II. At the first inaugural Session of the Gmina Council, held on 29 June, Władysław Majkowski was elected Chairperson of the Gmina Council and simultaneously elected the Gmina’s delegate to the Self-Government Assembly of the Gminas of Jelenia Góra Voivodeship. During the proceedings of the second Session, held on 6 July of this year, resolutions were adopted concerning the election of:
a) Deputy Chairpersons of the Gmina Council: Jan Durda and Władysław Marek Nowak,
b) Head of the Gmina: Kazimierz Gawron (elected to this position unanimously),
c) the Gmina Board, comprising: Kazimierz Gawron – Chairperson of the Board; members: Stanisława Potocka, Zbigniew Bożęcki, Tadeusz Hil and Mirosław Horzempa,
d) Chairpersons of the standing committees:
– Budget and Infrastructure Committee – Henryk Ostrowski,
Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Protection Committee – Jan Puk; Education, Culture, Sport, Health and Social Affairs Committee – Urszula Róg; Audit Committee – Józef Ryszard Wiśniewski
STANDING COMMITTEES OF THE GMINA COUNCIL AND THEIR AREAS OF ACTIVITY:
1. Budget and Infrastructure Committee: the gmina’s financial management, municipal and housing management, construction and technical infrastructure investments, transport and communications, trade, crafts and services
2. Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Protection Committee: crop and livestock production, land management and land transactions, drainage and meadow management, forestry and hunting, environmental protection.
3. Education, Culture, Sport, Health and Social Affairs Committee: education and upbringing, culture, physical education, sport and recreation, health protection and social care, counteracting the effects of unemployment.
4. Audit Committee: supervising the activities of the Gmina Board and subordinate units, excluding matters reserved by law for other bodies; submitting to the Gmina Council information, opinions and assessments resulting from inspections; giving opinions on motions to dismiss the Gmina Board or individual members; assessing reports on the implementation of the gmina budget and requesting that the Gmina Board be granted discharge.
