The BKS Bolesławiec junior team, coached by MIROSŁAW SZAPIEL, won the championship in its group. It decisively outpaced the second-placed WŁÓKNIARZ Leśna team by as many as 8 points. In the return round, our juniors won 9 matches—all the matches they played—scoring 40 goals and conceding only 2. This is a noteworthy sporting achievement. Marek Dąbrowski has played more than 80 matches for BKS, from the youth team to the present day, and scored 11 goals this season.

—Date and place of birth?
—25 July 1977, in Bolesławiec.
—How did you become the team captain?
—Coach Szapiel suggested it, and my teammates accepted.
—Position on the pitch?
—Central midfield.
—Do you have a nickname?
—My teammates call me “Deyna”.
—Are you superstitious before a match?
—No.
—How did you get into football?
—My father was the first to notice my aptitude for the game, and he persuaded me to join the youth team. My father is still my devoted supporter.
—Your most memorable match …
—The 1991 older juniors’ provincial championship final against Karkonosze Jelenia Góra, which we won 3–1.
—The finest goal you have scored?
—A direct goal from a corner kick. I have already scored several that way …
—Your hobbies?
—Football, tennis, basketball. I also love cooking all kinds of dishes.
—Favourite TV programmes?
—MTV, DSF, Eurosport.
—Favourite magazine?
—“Brawo”, “Popcorn”.
—Which famous person would you like to meet?
—John Paul II.
—Your sporting and personal ambitions?
—To be a good footballer. In the future, to start a family, have a loving wife, drive a Mercedes and live in a beautiful villa.
—What would you improve in your game?
—Speed, agility, heading and shooting with my right foot.
—Which club would you like to play for in the future?
—Some Bundesliga club.
—What can you say about your team?
—We are a close-knit group; everyone knows what is going on, and we know what we are capable of.
—What would you wish for yourself and the team?
—For myself, good health and to avoid injuries. For the team—for all my teammates to find places in senior teams in the future and win promotion to the third league for Bolesławiec.
