“GŁOS” MUST BECOME MORE EXPENSIVE
Readers will have to understand the situation and—as we have—come to terms with the thought that “Glos Bolesławca” will become more expensive.
Since the newspaper’s last price was set, paper has become more expensive, VAT has come into force, and fuel, ink and telephone services have become more costly. All of this affects the cost of publishing the paper.
We do this reluctantly, but from the next issue we will be forced to raise the newspaper’s price (to 4,000 zł) to cover at least the basic costs (the rest is done “for free”). For comparison, we inform Readers that, for example, “Gazeta Świerzawska” costs 5,000 zł, “Przegląd Lubański” 5,000 zł, “Moreny” 4,000 zł, and “Gazeta Milicka” 5,000 zł.
All the local newspapers mentioned (as well as those not mentioned) are financed from city budgets or receive subsidies.
“Głos Bolesławca” has to support itself.
