With young people from Jelenia Góra, Zagania, Gozdnica and Bolesławiec taking part, the Lower Silesian Macroregion Zone Qualifiers for the Polish Junior Under-17 Badminton Championships were held. The event was organized by MOSiR and TKKF "Nowe Śródmieście", with J. Popek serving as Chief Referee.
Dorota Dziuba won first place among the girls, ahead of Jolanta Walczak and Jolanta Wieczorek—all from Bolesławiec.
Radosław Palewicz took first place among the boys, ahead of Rafał Kasprów (both from Jelenia Góra) and Piotr Łączny from Zagan.
J. Walczak and J. Wieczorek, as well as R. Palewicz and R. Kasprów, won the doubles events.
Anna Łączna and Marcin Mrawski from Gozdnica won the mixed doubles event.
The winners qualified for the Polish Championships, which were held on 22–24 April in Rzeszów.
We would also like to report that the Polish Badminton Association has published a ranking list of Poland’s best female and male players. The following local badminton players appear on the list: Jolanta Walczak, Jolanta Wieczorek, Dorota Dziuba and Marcin Kiciński.
