On February 26, following the workshops, the children took to the FORUM stage to “show what they could do.” The MARZENIA performance comprised poems and songs interspersed with dances. The pieces set to music by Krzysztof Kaszuba were moving; he was discreetly assisted and advised by Wojciech Szajwaj. The dances prepared under the supervision of Elżbieta Tor were delightful, as was the set designed and made by the children with the help of Bożena Jędrzejczyk. The “snow” falling during the performance and the rising “vapors of dreams,” together with the lighting, emphasized its fairytale atmosphere.
The performers, dressed in matching outfits—blouses with printed designs—were spontaneous and charming. They were judged in a poll organized by Krystyna Juszkiewicz. The winners were: Justynka Stefanowska, Iwona Pyćko, Sebastian Hałocha, Małgosia Boczar, and the youngest, Agnieszka Baszczyj.
The performance was rounded off by a display of the talents of children from Nowogrodziec, prepared by Mrs. Zakrzewska. It was not the first time these children had been applauded in Bolesławiec. During the interval, viewers could see the “LUTCZYN DZIECIOM” exhibition and purchase related publications. Hołubiec
All this took place at the end of the school winter break under the motto DZIECI -DZIECIOM. The money raised at the event, amounting to 2 million złoty—including 700,000 donated by Pracownia Sitodruku S. Zapały—was allocated to a charitable cause. A joint decision was made that this year THE PROCEEDS FROM THE EVENT WOULD BE USED TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES. BOK needs a lift for people who cannot climb the stairs independently. Such a lift is not cheap, but it is very much needed, as it will make it easier for people with disabilities to attend events. Thus, the talented children will fund a “piece” of an elevator for children with disabilities—and not only children. At the same time, they are encouraging the rest of society to add to this fund.
The first 2 million is already there! Who will make their heartfelt contribution? (Contact through the Trade Union of Culture and Arts Workers at BOK.) The initiator of the TALENT Open Stage joins the appeal.
